Colere is excited to announce that it has been awarded a Gold Medal at the 47th Annual Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.  Inaugurated in 1973, the Fischoff is the largest and one of the oldest chamber music competitions in the United States.  Colere was one of 130 ensembles to submit an entry for the 2020 edition of the Fischoff, which was held virtually as a result of the ongoing pandemic.

After each ensemble’s video submissions were judged in quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, Colere Quartet was selected from a pool of three finalists as the Gold Medalist of the Senior Wind Division.

As a Gold Medalist, Colere was granted a cash prize and participation in Fischoff’s Double Gold Tour, along with the Balourdet String Quartet.  Dates and venues for this tour are TBA due to the impact of the coronavirus.
